Carnation Timing (1951)

Subject:

Carnation Timing

Abstract:

One bench each of White Sim, Miller's Yellow, Donna Lee, White Pat, and Frosted Pat carnations were used in this study. Rooted cuttings were pinched 4 to 5 weeks after planting in the nurse bench. The plants were benched standard 6" by 8" or 7" by 8" from late June to early July, about four weeks after pinching. Second pinches were made on the dates following. The most advanced shoots, not to exceed one per plant, were pinched each date.
