Abstract:
Some New York storage operators have reaped the benefits of low ethylene (<1.0 ppm) CA for *Empire1 apples in three storage seasons. Lessons learned from the successes and the failures have indicated that a program for low ethylene CA 'Empire' must include all of the elements listed in Table 1. The first and last entries are the subject matter of this paper.
